Police investigating shooting in Brooklyn Center

The Brooklyn Center Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened Wednesday night. 

According to authorities, officers responded to reports of a man shot at 5711 Xerxes Avenue N. around 7:20 p.m.

Officers located an adult man with a gunshot wound and rendered immediate aid. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the police.

Officers and K9 units searched for evidence and suspects but are yet to have made an arrest. 

The investigation is active and ongoing however police do not believe this was a random incident.
