Police investigating robbery at JCPenney in St. Cloud

Police in St. Cloud are searching for a suspect who they say displayed a handgun and stole jewelry from a JCPenney store.

According to the St. Cloud Police Department, police were called just before 3:15 p.m. on the report of a robbery that had occurred inside the JCPenney on Division Street West.

When officers arrived, they learned the suspect had left the store.

According to police, the man had gone into the jewelry department, displayed a handgun and demanded jewelry.

The man left the store with an undisclosed amount of jewelry.

Police say the man was in the store around 12:30 p.m., left the store and then returned around 2:45 p.m.

Police identified the suspect as a Black man between 35 and 40 years of age. He is described as being between 5-feet-8-inches and 5-feet-10-inches, wearing a black jacket over a white shirt, a white baseball hat and a black face mask.
