Police identify suspect in Burnsville hotel fatal shooting

Burnsville police identified a suspect in Friday’s fatal shooting at the Burnsville Inn and Suites.

Ricky Elroy Ramirez, 24, was taken into custody by police at about 6:35 p.m. after an altercation at the hotel.

Ramirez is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder. He has not been formally charged. There is a hearing scheduled for Monday at noon.

An investigation is underway.
