Police: 3 arrested following New Hope weapons incident
Police say one person is recovering from minor injuries and two people are in custody following an incident they say involved a weapon late Sunday afternoon.
According to New Hope police, officers were called to a report of a disturbance on the 4200 block of Oregon Avenue North at about 4:13 p.m.
The disturbance reportedly involved a displayed weapon, shots being fired and a fleeing vehicle.
When officers arrived, they found the vehicle a short distance from the scene and did a traffic stop.
Officials say the person inside the vehicle was arrested without incident, and was taken to an area hospital for what is described by police as minor injuries stemming from the initial disturbance.
In addition, police say a weapon was recovered when the traffic stop was done.
No other injuries were immediately reported.
Police say two other people were arrested at the scene of the disturbance, which is still being investigated by members of the New Hope police department, as well as the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.
