Pilot airlifted to hospital after plane crash near Granite Falls
A man is in the hospital after a reported plane crash near Granite Falls Friday morning.
The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call about a plane crash in a field east of the Granite Falls Airport just after 7 a.m. The caller also said a man walking by the plane had cuts on his head.
Emergency personnel responded, found the 67-year-old pilot and treated him at the scene before he was airlifted to North Memorial in Robbinsdale. The Sheriff’s Office did not know the status of his condition as of 10 a.m. Friday.
The FAA was contacted and will investigate the plane crash.
The plane was a 1971 American Aviation AA-1A two-seat plane.
No other details were immediately available.
