Pfizer booster shot for kids ages 12-15 now available at Hy-Vee pharmacy locations

Kids ages 12 to 15 are now able to receive Pfizer’s COVID-19 booster shot at Hy-Vee pharmacy locations.

According to the company, the free booster doses are available by appointment only to that age group at least five months after receiving their second dose.

This comes as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) authorized that any person who completed the two-dose series of Pfizer’s vaccine can receive either a Pfizer or Moderna dose at least five months after the second dose is administered. The five-month wait time is down from the previous six-month wait time.
