Overnight shooting investigation underway in north Minneapolis

Police are investigating a shooting in north Minneapolis that left one person injured overnight.

The city of Minneapolis said Minneapolis police were called to the area of 17th and Emerson avenues at about 12:45 a.m. after a ShotSpotter activation in the area.

There, officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The city said officers provided first aid until paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a hospital in critical condition.

Police were seen placing evidence markers in the street and taking photos of the scene.

The shooting is under investigation.

No arrests have been announced.
