Officials ask Minnesotans to clear snow from walkways, fire hydrants
Winter brought more snow and winter weather advisories to the state on Tuesday and Wednesday. That prompted reminders from officials to clear snow from certain areas.
Firefighters ask Minnesotans to clear snow from around fire hydrants, as a covered hydrant can cost extra minutes and result in more damage when firefighters respond to battle flames.
The U.S. Postal Service also asks Minnesotans to clear snow from around mailboxes, steps and sidewalks so letter carriers are able to safely and efficiently provide service.
