No injuries reported in overnight Northrop neighborhood fire

Crews are investigating the cause of an overnight fire in Minneapolis.

According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, crews were called to a home on the 4700 block of Elliott Avenue around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

When crews arrived, they found flames in the basement, and everyone had made it out of the building.

The department tweeted the fire didn’t appear to extend to the home’s structure, and flames were put out around 2 a.m.

Fire officials add the homeowner didn’t need assistance from the Red Cross, and the home wasn’t boarded up.
