No injuries reported in late-night Shakopee garage, house fire

Fire officials say no one was injured during a late-night fire Monday in Shakopee, however one resident had to be rescued out of an upper-level window.

According to the Shakopee Fire Department, crews were called to the 1900 block of Mathias Road for a report of a fire shortly before 11:30 p.m.

When crews arrived, they found a garage fire had extended to the home.

The fire department says everyone inside made it out safely with the help of firefighters and police officers, adding one person had to climb out of an upper-level window and onto the roof of a bay window before getting to safety.

The fire was under control by midnight, however, firefighters had to stay on the scene for at least two hours.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
