New Richmond man dies after crash that tossed him from motorcycle

A New Richmond, Wisconsin man died Sunday after crashing and being thrown from his motorcycle.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened just after 11 a.m. on Country Road F, south of 742nd Avenue, in River Falls.

According to the sheriff’s office, 58-year-old Thomas Weijk was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on County Road F when he left the road while going around a curve. After entering the west ditch, Weijk’s motorcycle hit a grove of trees, tossing him from the bike.

He was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul but later died.

The crash remains under investigation.
