New Ramsey County Community Corrections director named
Monica Long is set to begin work as the new director of Ramsey County Community Corrections on April 1. (Ramsey County).
A new director of Ramsey County Community Corrections has been named this week.
Monica Long has been selected for the position after having been with the agency since 2019.
Previously, Long served as deputy director of the Field Services Division. Prior to that, she worked as a director and division manager with Chisago County Health and Human Services. She also previously held leadership roles at corrections and human service agencies in Pennsylvania.
“(Long’s) experiences in public health, human services and corrections provides a unique understanding of how we can enhance community connections to align justice system outcomes with community values,” Kathy Hedin, deputy county manager of health and wellness, said in a statement.
Long will begin work as the new director on April 1, after John Klavins retires from the department this month.
