Multiple reports of theft from vehicles in Wayzata, police investigating

The Wayzata Police Department says it has received multiple reports detailing thefts from vehicles in the community overnight.

According to police, at least 12 vehicles were entered at multiple locations, including an underground garage. In addition, two vehicles were reported stolen as part of the activity.

None of the vehicles that were entered appear to have been locked and keys were with both vehicles that were stolen. This is consistent with similar activity occurring across the metro area.

Wayzata police asked residents to not keep valuables in cars, including car keys and garage door openers, and to lock vehicles.
