MPS to provide meals, snacks for students this summer
Starting Monday, Minneapolis Public Schools will be distributing free meals and snacks throughout the district to those who are 18 or younger.
According to the district, the food will be available at parks, libraries, the district’s food truck and food bus, as well as other community spaces.
The food is part of the district’s participation in the Summer Food Service Program, which is funded with federal money.
The district website says the food boxes don’t have shellfish, peanuts, pork or tree nuts.
