Minnetonka based BBQ Holdings bought by MTY Food Group for $200M
Hundreds of restaurants located across the United States, Canada and the United Arab Emirates will soon have a new parent company.
Tuesday, MTY Food Group announced it had agreed to buy BBQ Holdings for about $200 million.
BBQ holdings, which is based in Minnetonka, owns over 200 franchised and more than 100 corporate-owned restaurants such as Famous Dave’s, Granite City, Village Inn, and Barrio Queen, which are located in more than three dozen states. It also owns Tahoe Joe’s, Famous Craft Concepts, and Bakers Square.
MTY Food Group, which is based in Montreal, says the terms and conditions were unanimously approved by the board of directors for both companies.
The purchase is expected to be done by the end of 2022.
MTY Food Group has more than 6,600 locations across North America and bought Kahala Brands in July 2016.
