Wednesday was a special day for some Minnesota youth who were sworn into the military with a little bit of a twist.

For the first time ever, nearly 20 youth were instructed to say their oath from space as Army Col. and NASA astronaut Andrew Morgan led the ceremony while orbiting Earth.

Friends and family members gathered to watch at the Military Entrance Processing Station in Minneapolis.

In total, more than 850 future service members across more than 130 U.S. locations were sworn in.
