Minnesota Zoo holding 1st annual giving day Thursday
The Minnesota Zoo on Thursday is holding its first annual "Minnesota Zoo Giving Day."
In recognition of National Zoo Lovers Day, which is also on Thursday, the Minnesota Zoo Foundation is inviting Minnesotans to connect with fellow zoo lovers by sharing memories and experiences while supporting the zoo.
People can use the hashtag #MyMNZoo when sharing stories, pictures and videos on social media. Zoo lovers can also donate to the Zoo Foundation or create a fundraiser. The zoo said gifts will be doubled up to $21,500.
"As we look ahead, more than ever, the Minnesota Zoo will serve an important role in our state as people continue looking for safe and meaningful ways to experience joy and nature," John Frawley, director of the Minnesota Zoo and president of the Minnesota Zoo Foundation, said. "From our award-winning education programs to worldwide conservation projects, the Minnesota Zoo is an important Minnesota resource bringing people, animals, and the natural world together to save wildlife."
