Allina health and Minnesota United have teamed up to create the Minnesota United FC Power Soccer Team.

“Power soccer” is a competitive team sport — designed specifically for power wheelchair users.

The squad competes in the U.S. Power Soccer association under the Minnesota United name.

Those at Allianz Field today got the chance to see the players in action — plus, get in a chair themselves.

“These power chairs can go up to 6 miles an hour — so super, super fast — the athletes spend a lot of time practicing in the chairs, figuring things out, so they can whip around the ball and play the sport of soccer.”

The team was formerly known as the Courage Kenny Blizzards under Allina Health.
