Diana Ross, Jim Gaffigan to perform at Minnesota State Fair

Two more acts in the Grandstand Concert Series at the Minnesota State Fair have been announced.

Tuesday morning, fair organizers said Diana Ross, as well as Jim Gaffigan, will be a part of the Great Minnesota Get-Together.

Legendary Motown artist Ross is scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3.

Ross, who is synonymous with the Motown group The Supremes, went on to a solo career, and has also received an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Billie Holliday in “Lady Sings the Blues.” She has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and has received multiple awards such as Billboard’s Female Entertainer of the Century, Soul Train Lifetime Achievement, and American Music Award Lifetime Achievement Award.

Fair officials say Ross will be performing with Naturally 7, an acapella group which has gone on tour with singers such as Michael Buble, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Ludacris, The Roots, and others.

Meanwhile, Gaffigan’s performance is part of his upcoming “The Fun Tour,” and is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Gaffigan has been nominated six times for a Grammy for his work as a comedian, actor, writer and producer, and is a two-time New York Times best-selling author. He has also guest-starred on multiple shows such as “Bob’s Burgers,” “Portlandia,” and “Law & Order.”
