Minnesota landmarks to be illuminated for colorectal cancer awareness
Tuesday, several Minnesota landmarks will be illuminated to raise awareness of colorectal cancer.
Landmarks such as the Interstate 35W Bridge, Lowry Avenue Bridge, Capella Tower, IDS Center, Target Field, U.S. Bank Stadium and Allianz Field will be lit blue Tuesday night, from dusk to dawn.
Edina-based Colon Cancer Coalition led the charge to raise awareness of colorectal cancer, which the organization says is the nation’s No. 2 cancer killer but is 95% preventable. The Blue for CRC campaign started in Minnesota in 2014 and now involves 20 states.
March is also National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
