Minnesota GOP operative to appear in federal court

Minnesota Republican strategist and GOP donor Tony Lazzaro will appear in federal court Tuesday afternoon.
Lazzaro, 30, is facing one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors, five counts of sex trafficking of minors, one count of attempted sex trafficking of a minor, and three counts of obstruction. A federal judge unsealed the indictment earlier this month.
According to the federal charges, Lazzaro conspired with others to recruit and solicit six minor victims to engage in commercial sex acts.
Lazzaro’s attorney says his client is innocent.
Gisela Castro Medina is also facing federal sex trafficking charges in connection to the case.
She made her initial court appearance last week.
