Minnesota firefighters continue work fighting wildfires in Oregon
More than two dozen Minnesota firefighters are continuing to battle wildfires in Oregon nearly a week after their deployment.
Minnesota Homeland Security and Emergency Management said the state’s Type I engines are working on structure protection and triage in battling the Slater Fire while Type VI engines are working with hotshot crews supporting burnout operations to strengthen and clean up the fire line.
Walz: 29 Minnesota firefighters to assist response to Oregon fires
A total of 29 firefighters and nine trucks traveled to Oregon after being authorized by Gov. Tim Walz last week.
