Minneapolis teen certified as adult in carjacking cases
A Minneapolis 17-year-old has been certified to stand trial as an adult in several carjacking cases.
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office says a juvenile court judge certified Vance Demond Chatman as an adult on Thursday.
Chatman is charged with five counts of first-degree aggravated robbery in connection to two carjackings from December in St. Louis Park.
Additionally, he’s charged with another count of first-degree aggravated robbery, illegal gun possession and two counts of theft for carjackings in Crystal last November and Minneapolis in February.
His first court appearance is set for June 13.
