Minneapolis shooting victim dies several days later

The victim who was in critical condition suffering from a gunshot wound on July 13 in Minneapolis died on Sunday.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, at 6:42 p.m. on July 13 officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 2500 block of Golden Valley Road.

They received information while en route that one person has been shot and the suspect fled in a vehicle.

Once officers arrived on the scene and located the victim, officers then applied direct pressure and a tourniquet in attempts to keep the victim from bleeding to death.

Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to North Memorial Medical Center via ambulance.

The victim was in critical condition, but on Sunday, the Minneapolis police were told that the victim has died.

The identity of the deceased, along with the nature and causes of death, will be released by the Medical Examiner in the days to come.
