Minneapolis police pursuit results in crash on I-94 in St. Paul

A pursuit of a stolen vehicle by the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) ended with a crash on I-94 in St. Paul Friday evening.

According to an MPD spokesperson, police located a vehicle reported as carjacked at gunpoint near Lake Street and 14th Avenue South.

Police say the vehicle fled an attempted traffic stop, and officers pursued the vehicle onto I-94 from Cedar Avenue, following the car into St. Paul.

The vehicle repeatedly entered and exited I-94 until it crashed just west of Dale Street in St. Paul, according to Minneapolis Police.

According to an MPD spokesperson, three adults, two males, and one female, were inside the stolen vehicle. One male was transported to the hospital in “serious but stable condition,” while the other adult suspects had minor injuries.

The MPD is still investigating all three adults’ roles in the alleged carjacking.

St. Paul Police, Ramsey Co. Sheriff’s Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted MPD with the response.

The three adults involved in the pursuit and crash have not been identified at this time.
