Minneapolis officials estimate $150 million worth of damages following unrest in city

Friday, the Minneapolis City Council received an update on the cost of property damage in the city after widespread unrest following the death of George Floyd.

According to David Frank, the director of the Department of Community Planning and Economic Development, buildings in the city suffered an estimated $100 million to $150 million in damages.

Frank suggested the city request up to $500 million from outside sources to help rebuild.
