Minneapolis man pleads guilty in fatal shooting outside Cup Foods
A Minneapolis man entered two guilty pleas after being charged in connection with a fatal shooting outside Cup Foods in south Minneapolis in March.
Shantaello Christianson, 31, was charged in the spring with second-degree murder, first-degree riot causing death, and being a person prohibited from possessing a firearm, all in connection with the death of 30-year-old Imaz Wright.
Via a plea agreement Monday, Christianson pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and to being a person prohibited from possessing a firearm.
The shooting happened on March 6. According to a criminal complaint, Wright was standing in front of Cup Foods when Christianson drove up in a tan vehicle. An argument between Wright and a passenger in the vehicle took place. Then, Christianson stepped out of the vehicle and reportedly shot Wright multiple times before driving off, the complaint stated.
Sentencing is set for Nov. 5, according to a court document.
