Minneapolis man dies days after motorcycle pileup in Polk County
A Minneapolis man has died several days after a crash involving multiple motorcycles in western Wisconsin.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 8 at the intersection of Highway 87 and River Road, north of St. Croix Falls.
There, authorities found that five motorcycles were traveling north together on Highway 87 when the lead motorcycle slowed to turn left onto River Road. However, the other motorcyclists weren’t familiar with the area and started crashing into each other at the intersection.
One of the motorcyclists, 69-year-old Ivan Davis, was airlifted to Regions Hospital but died from his injuries on Friday, the sheriff’s office says. One other motorcyclist was also treated for minor injuries at a hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
