Minneapolis clothing store to pay $10K to settle sick time violations

A Minneapolis clothing retailer and the city have settled a complaint over alleged violations of the city’s sick and safe time policy.

According to the city, the Rainbow store at 621 West Broadway Avenue failed to provide sick leave to employees during the pandemic.

The city says Rainbow will pay over $10,000 in back wages and penalties, and ensured workers would get sick leave moving forward.

Rainbow’s website says it has more than 1,000 locations across the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, nine of which are in Minnesota.

People can report sick and safe time violations in Minneapolis by calling 311, filling out an online form or reporting it at City Hall, room 239.
