Minneapolis after-school activities canceled Thursday

Minneapolis Public Schools won’t be holding after-school activities Thursday.

The district said it opted to maximize the number of buses available for getting students home due to the extreme cold, and won’t hold after-school or Early Childhood Family Education activities.

However, transportation to varsity athletics will still be provided, Minneapolis Kids will remain open and adult evening community education classes will continue as scheduled.

MPS also said students who arrived late to school due to transportation issues on Thursday were excused.
