Metro Transit to launch scheduling, route changes next week for bus, light rail systems
Those who use Metro Transit buses and light rail systems can expect changes to some services starting Saturday, Aug. 20, the agency says.
Metro Transit cites “unprecedented” driver shortages as the reason for the scheduling and route changes.
Blue Line and Green Line trains are expected to run 15 minutes between stops rather than 12, and more than 25 bus routes will be modified in some way.

Recently, Metro Transit has canceled many trips due to the lack of drivers, and it expects the Aug. 20 shift will reduce that number by balancing its resources with customer demand.
The agency says it will attempt to reduce the impact on communities of color, and it will minimize the impact in areas where demand for rides is highest.
