Metro Transit: St. Paul light rail station incident could result in charges

Authorities have launched an investigation into an incident at a light rail station earlier this week.

A Metro Transit spokesman confirmed the investigation was launched Tuesday after video of the incident was posted to social media.

According to the Metro Transit spokesman, an initial investigation revealed the incident took place at the Dale Street Station in St. Paul just after midnight on Monday. The light rail was not currently in service at the time of the incident, the spokesman said.

Authorities have not yet been able to learn why the female victim was at the station when the incident took place.

A juvenile suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the incident, according to Metro Transit.

Authorities expect to present the case to the Ramsey County Attorney's Office for possible criminal charges, the Metro Transit spokesman confirmed.

The incident remains under investigation.
