MDH reports 1 additional flu-related hospitalization

Thursday, the Minnesota Department of Health released its latest influenza activity report.

According to MDH, no new school outbreaks were reported this week, bringing the season’s total to four. Additionally, no new outbreaks at a long-term care facility were reported, bringing the total this season to five.

One new hospitalization related to the flu was reported, bringing the total to 37. There are also no new deaths connected to the flu this season, far below past years.

MDH noted flu activity remains unusually low for this time of year both in Minnesota and across the country.
