A man who died 12 days after being hit by a vehicle on Interstate 35W in Arden Hills has been identified.
According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office, 48-year-old Troy Alan Birkholz of New Brighton died July 5 after being hit by a car June 24 in Arden Hills just before 10 p.m.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Birkholz’s Chevrolet C30 was stalled in the right lane of southbound I-35W near County Road I. Another vehicle traveling southbound on I-35W swerved from the right lane to avoid hitting the C30 and struck the driver of that vehicle.
The driver of the striking vehicle was uninjured.
