Man shot while in vehicle in Anoka County, taken to hospital

Authorities are investigating a shooting in Oak Grove that sent one person to a hospital Tuesday morning.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report of a man who’d been shot while riding in a vehicle with two other people at about 5:20 a.m.

The 911 operator urged the victim to stop the vehicle at Bill’s Superette on Viking Boulevard.

When deputies arrived, they determined the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. He was then taken to a hospital in critical condition but the injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening.

Investigators are still working to determine where the victim was shot and why but they don’t believe there is any threat to the public.
