Man sentenced in connection to fatal St. Cloud nightclub stabbing

A 29-year-old man has been sentenced in connection to a fatal stabbing at a St. Cloud nightclub that left one man dead.

According to the Stearns County Attorney’s Office, Lawrence Michael Johnson was sentenced to just over 34 years (415 months) in prison.

Johnson was found guilty of aiding and abetting murder in the second-degree.

Police were called early in the morning on Dec. 30, 2019, on the report of a stabbing at the Red Carpet in St. Cloud.

When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as Unity McGill, suffering from a stab wound.

McGill was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Bryant Jerome Stephenson and Christopher Lamar Johnson were also charged in connection to the incident.
