Man killed in north Minneapolis shooting identified
The victim of a homicide Thursday in north Minneapolis has been identified.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office says 34-year-old Heywood Jones was the man who was shot and killed near North 30th and Morgan avenues.
Additionally, the medical examiner says Jones was shot multiple times in the back. His death was ruled a homicide, the 70th of the year in Minneapolis, according to police.

Officers were called to the area just before 1:30 p.m. There, they found Jones and rendered aid until he was taken to a hospital, police said. However, he died about half an hour later.
Police said they believe the shooting happened after Jones and a man he knew got into an argument.
No arrests have been announced as of Friday.
