Man killed in Minneapolis stabbing identified

The victim of a fatal stabbing in Minneapolis this past weekend has been identified.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office says 52-year-old Jeffrey Allen Winfield was the man who died after being stabbed near Lowry and Oliver Avenues north Sunday.

Minneapolis police said officers responded to the area just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday and found a woman suffering from a stab wound. As they helped her, they learned that Winfield had also been stabbed, and was within a block from them.
Both were taken to a hospital, however, Winfield later died.
His death marks the 10th homicide of the year in Minneapolis, according to police.
Police said the stabbing is under investigation as a domestic incident, but no arrests have been announced.
