Man injured after shooting near Augsburg University library

Minneapolis police said they are investigating a shooting that injured a 19-year-old man just after 4:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers responded to the intersection of Seventh Street South and 22nd Avenue South near the Augsburg University Lindell Library after receiving reports of a shooting. Police located a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and provided aid before the man was taken to the hospital.

Investigators spoke with multiple witnesses and believe a fight near the intersection escalated into gunfire, and the suspect left on foot.

The Minneapolis Police Department is continuing its investigation.
