Man found dead after canoe found capsized on Cook County lake

A 29-year-old man was found dead after his canoe capsized on a Cook County lake, according to WDIO-TV, a Hubbard-owned station. 

The sheriff's office says deputies were notified of an overturned canoe on Tuscarora Lake just before 2 p.m. Wednesday.

WDIO reports that three people were in the canoe and that two of them were able to swim to an island. The third man was then reported missing. 

The man's body was recovered around 3:30 p.m., according to the sheriff's office. 

The identity is being withheld pending notification of family.
