Man fatally shot in Jordan neighborhood of Minneapolis identified

The man who died from a shooting in the Jordan neighborhood of Minneapolis was identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

Paul Edward Neely, 40, of Minneapolis, died of a gunshot wound to the head. The manner of death is homicide.

Minneapolis police said officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation around 3:51 p.m. on Sunday near 26th and Logan avenues on the city’s north side. Officers arriving at the scene found Neely lying outside, who had been shot.

Neely was rushed to North Memorial Health Hospital, where he died a short time later, police said.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
