Man dies week after Chisago County ATV crash

A man has died a week after his ATV crashed in Chisago County.

According to the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office, it received a call regarding an ATV crash in Nessel Township just west of Rush City on July 30 at 5:05 p.m.

When deputies arrived, they provided care until EMS arrived. The victim, identified as 59-year-old Gordon Baldwin, of Rush City, was later transported via North Memorial Air Care to North Memorial Hospital. Baldwin died on Wednesday as a result of his injuries.

Speed and a plow on the ATV digging into the pavement, which caused Baldwin to lose control, are believed to have contributed to the crash. Baldwin was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
