Man identified in fatal Hubbard County motorcycle crash

UPDATE: The Minnesota Department of Public safety has updated its report to include the identity of the man who died in a motorcycle crash on Saturday.

The man has been identified as 43-year-old Chad Michael Nelson of Bemidji.

The report indicates Nelson was not wearing a helmet, and alcohol was involved in the crash.

INITIAL REPORT 7/31/22: One man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Hubbard County Saturday night, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

The crash report indicates a motorcyclist was driving on Highway 200 in Hendrickson Township when the bike entered the shoulder, continued to the ditch and rolled.

The man, reported to be a 43-year-old from Bemidji, died in the crash.

Several agencies responded to the scene.

The crash report, which was filed at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, says more information about the driver will be released Sunday afternoon.
