Man dies at hospital days after suffering gunshot wound

A man died at Hennepin Healthcare Wednesday after suffering a gunshot wound to the head early Sunday morning.
A news release from the Minneapolis Police Department states that officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area and a person lying in the street. A 45-year-old man was found lying in the road near the intersection of 14th Avenue South and East Lake Street at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

The news release also states preliminary information indicates at least one shot was fired from a passenger vehicle before the vehicle fled the area.
No arrests have been made.
This is the 21st homicide in Minneapolis during the year 2022.
