Man dies after being pinned by round bale in south-central Minnesota

A Le Sueur County man died Sunday night after being pinned by a round bale, authorities said.

According to the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and emergency personnel were called to a home in Elysian Township, northeast of Mankato, at about 8:36 p.m.

The sheriff’s office said authorities were told a man was pinned between a large round bale and a metal-framed livestock feeder.

First responders were able to free the man before performing life-saving efforts but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The department identified him as 57-year-old Martin Jeffery Baker.

An investigation is underway.
