Authorities say Ross carjacked a man’s SUV and took off with the vehicle on 17th Avenue. When he got to Lake Street, he tried to turn right but went through the intersection and hit a 19-year-old and her 14-year-old brother, seriously injuring both.
Ross then continued east on Lake Street where he smashed into a police car and eventually crashed into a light pole near Lake Street and 20th Avenue S. After crashing into the light pole, the SUV burst into flames and police had to pull Ross from the vehicle.
Police said, while speaking with investigators, Ross admitted he had used drugs and alcohol during that day.
