Man charged in drunken-driving crash that killed boy in Brooklyn Center
A Minneapolis man faces charges in connection to a Brooklyn Center vehicle crash that killed a boy early Sunday morning.
A criminal complaint states 30-year-old Demetreious Anderson Baldwin faces one count of criminal vehicular homicide.
Police were called to a reported rollover accident on the 5900 block of Brooklyn Boulevard just before 1:30 a.m. There, officers found a badly damaged car on its side in a parking lot with a juvenile male victim partially ejected from the back passenger window.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the complaint, investigators later learned the vehicle was owned by Baldwin. Officers learned there had been another passenger in the vehicle and that Baldwin and the passenger "had been drinking heavily."
When officers found the passenger at his home, he was intoxicated and had injuries that were consistent with being in a crash.
The complaint says an officer later found Baldwin at a hospital where he admitted "he crashed due to alcohol consumption."
