Man charged for fatal impaired-driving crash in western Wisconsin

A St. Croix County, Wisconsin man has been charged after he allegedly crashed into another vehicle while intoxicated, killing the other driver.

The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a crash near State Highway 35 and County Highway H in Somerset Township just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

Deputies found that a 1999 Ford F-250 was headed west on County Highway H when it failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a southbound 2015 Nissan Altima.

The driver of the Nissan, identified as 22-year-old Gerald Rand of Somerset, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, identified as 37-year-old Jordan D. Anderson, also from Somerset, was treated at a hospital and arrested. According to the sheriff’s office, he’s since been charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
