Man arrested after stabbing in Alexandria sends 1 to hospital
A man was arrested Wednesday after a stabbing in Alexandria.
Alexandria police officers responded to an assault report in the 800 block of Kenwood Street at around 10:28 a.m.
Officers were told a male victim was stabbed and was outside the home. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, who was then taken to a hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
Police confirmed the victim was stabbed with a knife and learned the victim and suspect knew each other.
According to police, officers then made contact with the suspect, arrested him and took him to Douglas County Jail where he remains on assault charges.
Police say the incident was an isolated event and there’s no threat to the public.
