Man arrested after short pursuit, search in Genola

A Little Falls man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a short pursuit and search in Genola.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle, whose driver had active warrants for his arrest, at 4:24 p.m. on Highway 27, near Pierz. The vehicle didn’t stop and short pursuit ensued.

According to the sheriff’s office, the vehicle later pulled over near Centennial Drive and Highway 27, and the driver took off running south past Dollar General in Genola.

The sheriff’s office and Pierz police set up a perimeter near the store and used a drone and K9 unit to locate the man, who was then taken into custody. He was identified as 31-year-old Antonio Randell Oatis.

Oatis was taken to Morrison County Jail and is awaiting formal charges for fleeing in a vehicle and fleeing on foot.
